Technological University(Mandalay) TUM aims its graduated engineers and architectures will be good leaders for future in different field of their work places. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.


Bachelor Programme (B.E) 6 Year

The bachelor degree program is a foundation programme and challenging for the preparation of young individuals who are able to fulfill ever-changing demand of 21st century education. With a variety of courses offered by the various faculties, the candidate will benefit from a broad-based education in multiple disciplines.

The candidate who wants to join bachelor degree programme must pass the matriculation exam held by the government and must have the total exam marks at least 450.

To achieve a Bachelor Degree, students have to attend six years. There are two semesters in an academic year. For each semester, it includes mid-term and final exams, tutorials, case study, practical/lab tests and project according to the nature of subject. The students must have at least 75% attendance in every lecture for taking exam. The students will achieve the degree unless they fail to submit mini-thesis in the final year.

Master Programme (M.E) 2 Year

Master degree programme provides the advanced skills and research needed to work as a qualified engineer in specific specialized-areas. It encompasses the latest research for the development of society and solving the real world problems.

The student who wants to join master degree programme must possess a bachelor degree in engineering passed with credit in a specific field. Students are required to take the entrance exam and oral test. The students who pass the entrance exam and oral test can join the master degree programme. They are required to attend one year course work and one year thesis.

The master degree programmes are:

  • M.E (Civil Engineering)
  • M.E (Electronics Engineering)
  • M.E (Electrical Power Engineering)
  • M.E (Mechanical Engineering)
  • M.ARCH (Architecture)
  • M.E (Information Technology)
  • M.E (Mechatronic Engineering)

Admission Requirements

High school graduates specialized in science can apply engineering disciplines. English proficiency is indispensable. Allocation is made by the academic committee of the University on the basis of merit and choice preferences of each candidate. Therefore, high school grading is obviously important.



Registration Requirements for Fresher

Registration process flow charts are displayed on the University's Notice board and in Student's Affair Office. For the registration, new intake students must submit :

  • A complete application form
  • Transcript or High School Credentials
  • A copy of marks certificate
  • The copy of NRC of parents and applicant
  • 5 pcs of (1.5" x 1.3") license photo

Applying TUM

In June, university admission for high school graduates is announced in newspaper for inviting application. Guidebook for University Admission is released in July. Students who want to apply TUM shall follow the guidelines described in guidebook.




Registration Requirements for Senior Students

For the registration of senior students, they should submit :

  • A complete application form
  • 5 pcs of (1.5" x 1.3") license photo
  • The copy of NRC of applicant and his/her parents

NOTE:

TUM selects students for study in the undergraduate programmes according to the students’ interest and the marks obtained in the high school grading or matriculation exam.
